Social Circle Christian School is designed to help each child develop to his or her own potential by providing a school with the emphasis on the total education of the child.  Our objective is to meet the physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual needs of children in a Christian environment.  Our school currently offers preschool classes for ages one through four years old and elementary and middle school for Kindergarten through the eighth grade.

Mission

The mission of Social Circle Christian School At First Baptist Church is to educate and train students in a Christ-centered environment. Social Circle Christian School At First Baptist Church is an extension of the home and church and is established to provide the highest standards for intellectual and spiritual learning, and to equip students to become spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially and physically prepared to achieve all that God desires for them.

Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the infallible, inspired and authoritative Word of God and that it is, therefore, our final authority in matters of faith and practice. (ll Timothy 3:15 -16; ll Peter 1:20-21; Luke 24:24)

WE BELIEVE in the existence of the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and in the creation of all that exists by a direct act of God. (Genesis 1:1-3; Matthew 28-19; John 4:24 ; John 10:30; John 17:3)

WE BELIEVE in the deity of Jesus Christ: His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14 ; Matthew 1:23 ; Luke 1:35 ) His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15 ; Hebrews 7:26 ) His miracles (John 2:11 ; John 4:54 ) His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9) His physical resurrection (John 11:25 ; 1 Corinthians 15:4) His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19 ) His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11 ; Revelation 19:11 )

WE BELIEVE that salvation is by grace alone, through God's gift of eternal life, presented to all who, by faith, accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive spiritual new birth by the Holy Spirit. (John 17:3; ll Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:1-22)

WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. We believe that Heaven exists as an eternal state of glory with God for the saved, and Hell exists as a place of eternal, conscious punishment for the lost.  (Ephesians 5:5; ll Peter 3:10; Revelation 20:15; Revelation 21:27)

WE BELIEVE in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.  (Romans 8:9; l Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28)

WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit is sent by God, to empower all Christians to live Godly lives.  (John 14:16; John 16:5-15; l Corinthians 6:19-20)

Purpose

Social Circle Christian School at First Baptist Church is designed to help each child develop to his or her own potential by providing a program with the emphasis on the total education of the child. Our objective is to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, mental and social needs of children in a Christian environment.

All children have similar basic needs:

  • To feel comfortable and happy.
  • To be loved and wanted, secure and unhurried
  • To grow in independence in meeting and solving problems.
  • To grow socially. To feel more secure with adults and other children in a variety of new situations.
  • To begin to associate God with feelings of wonder, love, happiness and to want to talk to God in their own way.
  • To feel that Jesus loves them. To feel that Jesus loves others.
  • To think the Bible is a special Book. To become familiar with and enjoy Bible stories and Bible thoughts that are meaningful to them (Related to their own experience.)
  • To think their home and their school are places where they are loved and wanted.

All children are active learners, learning best through involvement with their senses. The Christian concepts listed above are taught using the A Beka curriculum guided activities, which use blocks, books, nature, music, puzzles and art. Prayer and the bible are vital parts of Christian education at Social Circle Christian School at First Baptist Church.
